Lizard Season

Lizard Season was born during the silent years of the global pandemic, when musicians from different parts of the world began reconnecting through underground music forums, late-night voice calls and remote recording sessions.

What started as conversations about classic records, analog equipment and forgotten live performances slowly turned into something much bigger.

The band’s foundation came from a shared admiration for music that felt alive — music with atmosphere, imperfections, emotion and identity.

Between discussions about classic hard rock, heavy metal, psychedelic blues, cinematic soundtracks and underground scenes from different countries, the musicians behind Lizard Season began exchanging riffs, unfinished demos and late-night recordings made inside improvised home studios.

At the center of those sessions was Brazilian vocalist Johnny Morrison, previously known for fronting the acclaimed 5TO1 The Doors Cover project, recognized by members of The Doors during meetings in Brazil in 2006.

As isolation changed the world, the recordings became darker, heavier and more personal. What initially sounded like distant collaborations slowly evolved into a real band.

Lizard Season became more than a remote project.

It became a return to music for people who never truly abandoned it.

Blending classic rock, heavy metal, gothic atmosphere, blues roots and cinematic textures, the band built its identity around emotion, atmosphere and songs meant to feel timeless.

Even before performing live together, the members already shared years of conversations, recordings and creative exchanges across continents.

Lizard Season is not tied to one country, one scene or one era.

It exists somewhere between classic analog soul and modern digital chaos.

“Music never really leaves you.”

Born and raised around the alternative culture of São Paulo, Johnny Morrison grew up surrounded by handcrafted leather markets, vinyl records, hippie culture and classic rock from the 70s.

Over the years he performed in multiple rock and metal bands before founding 5TO1 The Doors Cover, later becoming one of the creative forces behind Lizard Season.

During the pandemic years, after personal losses and years away from the stage, music slowly returned through remote collaborations that would eventually become the foundation of the band.

Drums

“Drums are not background. They are the pulse.”

Before joining Lizard Season, Elena Draven had already gained attention in underground music circles through late-night drum videos that mixed technical precision with an intense visual presence.

Born in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, Elena originally studied classical music before moving toward hard rock and melodic metal during her teenage years.

During the pandemic, she spent countless nights recording drum performances inside improvised studio spaces, often uploading experimental sessions with no titles or descriptions.

Johnny Morrison first discovered Elena after one of those videos appeared during a late-night search for remote collaborators. According to Johnny, “she played like someone trying to keep the song alive.”

Although often recognized for her striking appearance and dark aesthetic, Elena quickly became respected inside the band for her perfectionism and discipline during recording sessions.

Outside music, she spends time restoring vintage drum hardware, collecting horror vinyls and watching classic European psychological horror films.

Ethan Crowe

Lead Guitar

“A good riff should feel like dust, smoke and electricity.”

Raised in Arizona surrounded by desert landscapes, tube amplifiers and old vinyl collections, Ethan Crowe developed a deep connection to blues-driven guitar music at an early age.

Known online for his obsession with vintage gear and analog recording techniques, Ethan spent years participating in underground music forums dedicated to classic rock, desert blues and forgotten live bootlegs.

Before joining Lizard Season, Ethan worked mostly alone, recording instrumental demos and experimental riffs late at night inside a small home studio filled with old amplifiers and cassette tapes.

His connection with Johnny Morrison began after discovering old 5TO1 live performances online during the pandemic years. The first guitar exchanges between them eventually shaped the earliest sound of Lizard Season.

Victor Kane

Rhythm Guitar

“Precision means nothing if the song doesn’t bleed.”

Victor Kane grew up in Toronto deeply influenced by classic heavy metal and arena rock. Bands with powerful riffs, melodic guitars and massive choruses shaped his aggressive rhythm style long before Lizard Season existed.

Before joining the band, Victor became known online for producing extremely polished guitar demos and obsessively chasing the perfect rhythm tone.

Other members often joke that Victor can spend hours adjusting amplifiers and microphones searching for tiny differences in sound.

Despite his technical precision, Victor always believed great music should still feel dangerous and emotional. His chemistry with Johnny Morrison developed naturally during long conversations about classic live albums and the lost energy of old-school rock shows.

Keyboards • Atmospheres

“Sometimes one note can change the whole room.”

Born in Hamburg, Adrian Voss grew up fascinated by vintage synthesizers, old horror films and progressive rock records.

Unlike the heavier members of Lizard Season, Adrian’s musical background was initially rooted in atmospheric sound design, analog keyboards and cinematic composition.

During the isolation years of the pandemic, Adrian became active in experimental music communities online, sharing ambient recordings and dark instrumental pieces inspired by European horror cinema and 70s progressive rock.

According to the band, Adrian rarely speaks during recording sessions — but often changes the emotional direction of entire songs with a single keyboard layer.

Bass

“The bass should haunt the song without asking for attention.”

Marcus Vale grew up in Manchester surrounded by post-punk, gothic rock and underground alternative music.

His restrained personality and hypnotic bass style quickly became part of the darker side of Lizard Season’s identity.

Unlike some of the more outspoken members of the band, Marcus keeps most of his personal life private and rarely appears outside official recordings and visual projects.

Other members describe him as calm, observant and almost impossible to read. His bass lines became the bridge between the atmospheric side of the band and its heavier moments.
